Handling a very tough topic

Last night I was privileged to participate in a 2 hour conversation with three other people that achieved more in that time than much longer meetings regularly do.

We used a personal perspective on a global, geopolitically important place and issue by asking ourselves to come up with 5 words that represent our feelings about and relationahip with the state of Israel.

While there was much overlap, there were really clear common themese coming through. By distilling the myriad complex viewpoints down to single words, we were helped by our able facilitator of the evening, Rebecca.

After a break, we took time out to place a pen on the ground between two walls of the room to symbolize where we each stood vis a vis 'complete support, Israel can do no wrong' to 'having a state is too high a price to pay...'

Then we each stood with our pens and spoke from that place, articulating its perspectives before finally moving to another point on the continuum and seeking to speak the words that are true from that point.

Good session!

Greetings from Stockport, Cheshire

Been having a good visit with Mil, Neil's Mum,a retired teacher, and building up a picture of what young people will want/not want to do when they visit the Anne Frank exhibition in Bristol Cathedral in May.
