Women of the Wall

Women of the Wall are Jewish women who want the freedom to pray in front of the Western Wall in Jerusalem in some of the ways that liberal progressive reform Jewish women pray all around the world. The site is also known as the Kotel and is considered the holiest site in Judaism.

from their website:
As Women of the Wall, our central mission is to achieve the social and legal recognition of our right, as women, to wear prayer shawls, pray, and read from the Torah collectively and out loud at the Western Wall.

Will the recent court ruling in their favour hold? Or will it be contested by the police or other authorities?

If it's possible, I hope to meet these courageous women on Rosh Chodesh SIvan, the start of the new month of Sivan, on 10 May 2013.

  1. One emonth ago, on Rosh Chodesh Sivan, there was disgraceful noise and violence from the Haredi men.

Yesterday, we have seen at last real progress!
